Future City Sketches is my public notebook to explore the complex system of governance, infrastructure, and design that makes up New York City.
I will sketch frameworks and models that help me think through a system dynamic, and explore potential interventions at leverage points that might change how the system behaves.
My goals are:
to consolidate ideas I come across while studying and working in public systems.
to experiment with different ways of explaining complex dynamics through visuals and models.
to practice persuasive writing on this topic that I care about.
and hopefully inspire creative thinking about how our institutions could work better.
I work in public sector service design and am particularly interested in how small design choices can result in large outcomes.
